My name is Aida Uzuni, 27 years old, mother of two little children, living in Berat. I had the opportunity to participate in the seminar for reception techniques organized by RDA Berat with the support of the GIZ,Albania, at “VET TOURISM HOSPITALITY” Program.
As per my family conditions, I have not been able to work full time until now. I am unemployed for the moment, and would love to see better opportunities and work as receptionist. This was the main reason to apply to RDA Berat, and participate in the series of seminars for reception techniques, organized in Berat during April – May 2024.
This training helped me tremendously through lots of information I received. Through this training I was informed about many things that I needed to know in my journey as a receptionist. This training left a lot of good impressions on me because I learned a lot about how to become a competent receptionist. Some of the most important techniques we learned during the series of seminars included: communication with clients, appearance, uniform, teamwork, sales techniques, complaints, and many other important areas of reception.
I would like to thank the trainers: Qamile Gishti and Nevila Popa, for their dedication to us and their hard work during all days of seminars and continuous support giving to us afterwards. In addition, a big thank you goes to the organization: RDA BERAT for engaging many young people in business sector.
The tourism potential of Albania is no longer a secret, but work remains to improve the quality of tourist services, upgrade the country’s tourist infrastructure, and establish Albania as a true niche destination. The growth of the tourism sector, and the continued capacity development of tourism service providers, has implications that reach far beyond providing visitors with a pleasant experience. Micro, small and medium enterprises are the driving force for Albania’s economic growth and job creation.
As such, the RDA Berat through “VET TOURISM HOSPITALITY” , GIZ Program started a series of seminars focusing in the reception techniques and other instruments for young people, so that they would find opportunities for job positions in the accommodation structures of Berat.
The RDA Berat program for training of youth in several hospitality department positions is a significant contribution to the continued development of the Berat tourism sector, its economic growth and job creation.
