Hello there, my name is Armando Barjamaj, I am 18 years old and I live in a village of Berat named Drenovic.I just finished high school and I had the honour to be part of digitalization training that was organised by the Regional Development Agency Berat (RDA) in collaboration with GIZ Albania.

My first impression of the training was sceptical since I have never had trainings at this stage and I didn’t believe in myself that I can learn so much in such a short amount of time.

The first thing that I learned was about rituals. Doing the right rituals before the training brings you to the right mental state of positivity where you feel hopeful about the future and have courage during setbacks.

Since I recently finished high school, I really want to work professionally as a cook. I love cooking for my family and I want to go the professional route and become a chef in the future.

During the course I learned about digitalization in the professional realm. I specifically learned to use cloud platforms such as google sheets to help me make a list of food ingredients and the respective portions that I need to have available when I cook my dishes.

I also learned the personal branding in the digital age. I learned on why It is so important to promote yourself and your work on social media and how to provide value for my audience. I learned on how to make videos on the cooking process of my work as well as make educational videos of specific recipes to explain to my audience on how they can cook better meals at home.

Since I am so young I have to point out that I see my future with great optimism and I believe that the connections I made with my classmates during the course will be priceless in the future. I was really lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful peers who encouraged me constantly and helped me push myself beyond my comfort zone.

I cant thank RDA Berat in association with GIZ Albania for providing me with this amazing course for free.
