My name is Sajmir, I work as a farmer and I heard the digital marketing & digital economy training from my kids that attend the school in Starove village in Berat. The training was organised by the Regional Development Agency Berat (RDA) in collaboration with GIZ.
My experience with the training is a new one since Its been a long time since I finished school and I can say that It really was a productive and an exciting one. The trainer was really compassionate towards teaching and really precise on the explanation process since my very computer skills were very limited at the time.
Despite working as a an olive & olive oil farmer I really wanted to modernise the way I conducted my business. Specifically, my work needed to be more organised, efficient and the way to market my business needed modern means.
During the training I learned about the basic computer skills to use Microsoft word and excel as well as to surf the internet to expand my knowledge base about farming. Later on I learned about an introduction to digital marketing in order to brand my business and try to market it.
The training Itself got me to a point of understanding basic financials, recording inventories as well as branding my business by using a name that is distinguishable from the rest of olive producers. I used excel tables to calculate my inventory and market prices. And I learned about the marketing principles to create a name for my business as well as some research in order to design my own product package.
To sum up, I really want to encourage other people my age to get the courage and learn despite the long time out of school or despite being biased towards modernism.
