The cultural initiative “Under this Sign” (Nën këtë Shenjë) addressed a critical regional gap within the UNESCO World Heritage site of Berat: engaging local youth with intangible historical narratives. While Berat is celebrated for its architectural heritage, the project bridged youth engagement with historical roots through a three-act multimedia theatrical performance held at the Constantine Bust inside Berat Castle on June 19, 2026.
The action brought to life the 1,700-year-old legacy of Emperor Constantine the Great (of Illyrian origin), focusing on his early life, the Edict of Milan granting religious freedom, and decrees such as the “Sunday Rest”. Executed over a 6-month period across four phases, the project built artistic capacity among 12 local youth, created reusable digital audiovisual assets, and fostered institutional collaboration among local authorities, religious bodies, and cultural centers
